Ann and Peter were our immediate neighbours In Coombe Drive, Dunstable. They were not only neighbours, but great friends to my parents and our families’ lives were interwoven.
In particular my Mum and Ann were good friends and so supportive to each other when we were very young and growing up. Above all they shared a wicked sense of humour. If they both found something funny, it was impossible to stop them laughing or getting the giggles. Even in Church!
I remember Ann’s laughter and brightness. Always pleased to see me. I called her T’Ann, which we both liked. I remember the occasional burnt toast, which I always loved. Particularly with marmite on.
i know when our families had loss and sadness there was mutual support.
Ann took Mike and myself on holiday in 1976 to Rye in East Sussex. It was very memorable for us both and i dont think we will ever forget that summer and some of the songs on the radio as well !
There are so many precious memories which I cherish and in particular her smile when she saw me xx
